What an undersuit is for

Short track is raced on tight radius corners at high speed, with sharp blades passing close to the ice and to other skaters. A cut resistant undersuit sits underneath your normal race suit and adds a hidden layer of protection across the body. You keep wearing the race suit you already like on top, and the Kevlar layer does the protecting underneath. Most national federations require cut resistant protection for short track competition, so a proper undersuit is part of racing safely and legally.
